What is LincOn.com (basically)...?

LincOn.com is designed as a menuing system for the World Wide Web. Its also a collection of Web site search utilities. What makes us unique, is that we are the only Web portal that graphically represents sites in our guides using icons instead of text which makes identifying a resource easier.

How do I navigate around LincOn.com?

So, you're new to LincOn.com, and need some help navigating the menus or finding what you're looking for. On every page you will see a menu on the top of the page. For example, the "News" tab will take you to a section that contains news stories & links to news resources. Other menu choices will either take you to a direct source or provide you with a menu of several sources. Most images or "icon's" that you see are clickable and will take you to that resource. How do I take advantage of the search utilities?

LincOn.com is not only a guide to sites on the Internet, but a complete searching tool that will help you find what you are looking for. There are many databases on the Internet that let you selectivly search for the information you are looking for, not just other sites. You can take advantage of this two different ways on LincOn.com. First, you can browse through the categories which will lead to over 3,000 search utilities in the guides section. and when you find a topic that interests you, you can select the 'Search' function at the top of the page instead of 'Sites'.

When doing a search, first look at what your searching. Make sure you're searching the appropriate resource for what your looking for. Next, use any available "pulldown" menu's to further refine your search. Also, click on any other buttons that may help. Finally, enter some text in the provided space for what you are looking for and then click on the button marked "SEARCH" or something like that. The utility will forward the information to the site or database that you are searching and then display the results. You can do a search from the homepage or use any utility on any page.
